PAT is a Portable Appliance Test. This is the testing of any appliance that is portable, not fixed or hardwired. PAT tests need to be undertaken yearly or at the change of tenancy. They ensure the safety of any appliance you supply for your tenants' or employees' most certainly play an important role in Health & Safety regulations.
Our Engineers will carry out a range of checks beginning with a visual inspection, followed by an electrical equipment test. The range of tests will cover;
- Preliminary visual inspection
- Earth continuity test
- Insulation test
- Functional checks
It is a legal requirement to undertake PAT Testing. This particularly applies to Landlords or people who are considering selling their homes. When our Engineers carry out a PAT Test, they will safety inspect and flash test any portable appliance, attach a label clearly stating the date and expiry of test. They will then fill in a certificate and give you a signed copy for your records.
